Blocked Toilets
A pan that fills to the brim, bubbles while the laundry taps run or seeps at the base usually has a blocked branch below the floor, and we clear the pan and the pipe in the one visit.
Blocked toilets, sewer lines, stormwater pipes, drain cleaning, camera inspections and repairs to the pipes themselves: Taigum Blocked Drain Services handles the lot across Taigum and the streets either side. New to the site? Start with the Taigum overview of who we are and what we fix.
If we're late, $100 comes off your bill

Whatever is blocking the pipe, the order stays the same. Find the cause first, clear the line so it flows again, then mend any section that is cracked, sunken or split by roots so the same trouble does not return with the next storm season.
Six services cover every drain problem a Taigum property can produce. Match the symptom to the page:

A pan that fills to the brim, bubbles while the laundry taps run or seeps at the base usually has a blocked branch below the floor, and we clear the pan and the pipe in the one visit.

When every drain in the place goes slow at once, the fault sits in the main drain between your boundary and the Urban Utilities sewer main under the street, and that shared line is the core of our week.

Yard gullies, downpipes and pit grates that drown in every November downpour are usually carrying storm debris washed down from the creek-side low ground, so we flush the line before the next one arrives.

Kitchen sinks, laundry tubs, showers and floor wastes collect grease, hair and soap fat over the years, and an electric eel or jet blast strips the lot off the pipe wall.

A camera through the line reveals what is actually in there, so the fix targets the real fault, whether that is roots, hardened grease or a joint that has dropped out of line.

Cracked, collapsed or root-split drains get dug up and replaced, or relined where the pipe is still sound, and we talk through both options with you before either one starts.
$0 call-out fees, available 24/7, and same-day where we can.

The soil, the creek and the housing eras decide a lot before anyone picks up a tool. A few things come up on Taigum runs again and again:
The clay and creek alluvium beside Cabbage Tree Creek stay damp for days after rain, so a repair dig-out on the low streets can fill with water before the new pipe even goes in.
The native trees along the creek corridor go looking for moisture, and a hairline crack in an ageing joint is all the invitation a root needs to turn a slow drain into a blocked one.
Both Anglicare aged-care homes in the suburb run big kitchens, and fat from the pans sets hard where the sewer turns, catching scraps and wipes on the way past.
Summer downpours load the low streets fast, and gully traps near the creek brim with leaf mulch before the ground can drain it all away.
At the last census the suburb counted 3,055 dwellings, split between detached houses and a growing band of townhouses, so the big-yard and shared-drain versions of these problems sit on the same run.

Every call sorts into one of three baskets, and the basket decides what happens next:
when a single fixture runs slow and the rest of the house is fine: drain cleaning with the eel or the jetter does the job.
when the same drain blocks twice, when several fixtures slow together, or before repairs get quoted: CCTV drain inspection pinpoints the section at fault.
where the line itself is cracked or has collapsed: drain repairs covers the dig-up and the relining alternative.

The same symptom can mean different things depending on when the place went up. Three patterns cover most of what we find:
Original drains deep into their working life mean slow fixtures and damp patches on the lawn usually trace back to roots at a joint or a section that has shifted.
Shared lines mean one blockage can back up several homes at once, so a gurgling floor waste in one bathroom often has its cause two doors down.
The PVC is young, but the stormwater pits on the low streets near the creek still silt up after every big storm and want a flush before summer.

A few factors do most of the shaping on any quote:
An outdoor gully or boundary vent is quick to work from; a line under a driveway or a deck adds time to the job.
Old earthenware well down in the ground takes longer to clear or mend than shallow modern PVC.
A stubborn repeat blockage is better diagnosed properly once than cleared over and over every few months.

Whatever the job turns out to be once the pipe is open, those four hold on every run.
Drain work runs well past this suburb. We get sent across Deagon and Boondall, up the road to Zillmere, and out to the newer estates of Fitzgibbon, and each of those has its own page of local drain detail. Streets between them are still on the run: the contact page has how to reach us.
Gurgling at the pan usually means a partly blocked pipe under the floor, so start with the toilet service; if several fixtures go slow at once, the shared sewer line is the suspect and wants a camera.
They can. Houses that went up south-west of Roghan and Muller Roads in the 1970s often still run their original drains, so roots at old joints and sections sitting out of line are far more common there than in the newer pockets.
Not for a one-off slow sink, which the eel or jetter settles. The camera earns its cost when a blockage keeps coming back, when every fixture in the place slows together, or before a repair is quoted.
That overflow usually means the stormwater line is packed with storm debris; on the low creek-side streets, runoff arrives faster than the lot drains can carry it away, so the gully spills until the pipe is flushed.
You sign off on a fixed upfront price before anything starts, and you can pay by card or EFTPOS on the day, so there is nothing to sort out once the plumber packs up.
